Vegan Corn Dogs

Vegan corn dogs with Violife EPIC Cheddar flavour! This recipe is so easy and so amazingly delicious, you will be making it every weekend!

  • 200 g Violife Epic Cheddar flavour block, cut into sticks
  • 200 g panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 vegan sausages, boiled and halved
  • wooden skewers
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Ketchup and mustard for serving
FOR THE BATTER:
  • 30 g sugar
  • 4 g yeast
  • 150 g flour
  • 50 g rice flour
  • 4 g salt
  • 100 g warm water
  1. In a medium bowl mix all the ingredients for the batter together with a spatula.
  2. Cover with a clean tea towel and place in a warm dry place for about three hours.
  3. Thread the halved vegan sausages onto the skewers and then the Violife Epic sticks. Repeat with all the skewers.
  4. Fold out the batter into a deep baking tray and roll the skewers to cover them evenly with batter. You can wet your hands to help with the process.
  5. Dip into a plate of panko breadcrumbs and coat evenly again.
  6. In a deep frying pan heat vegetable oil and deep fry the corndogs for 3 minutes on each side, until golden.
  7. Remove and place on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve, drizzling with ketchup and mustard. Enjoy!
