FOR THE BURGER:
  • 1 pack Violife Original Slices
  • 1 lettuce
  • 1 tomato
  • A jar of olives stuffed with red peppers
  • 6 burger buns
FOR THE LENTIL PATTIES:
  • 1 cup red lentils, cooked, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2-3 carrots, grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ packed cup cilantro, roughly chopped with stems
  • 1 tsp salt
  1. Place oil in a small pot over medium heat, and sauté onion and carrots. Add the spices and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, stir oats, carrot mixture, and chopped cilantro. Season with salt and add the cooked lentils. Use your hands to mash the mixture together creating a burger-like consistency. Roll into medium balls and then flatten with your palms. Place patties on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.
  3. Meanwhile use a small knife to make teeth-like shapes on the edge of the Violife slices. Slice the burger buns open, layer a slice of tomato, lentil patty, Violife slice, lettuce, and top with the burger bun. Use toothpicks to secure the burger and add sliced olives to give your burger eyes.
